WorkAge Project, York - Helping the over 50's get back to work
Yesterday I was at York College, Tadcaster Road, York giving a 2 hour workshop to 12 people attending where York College is leading on a local WorkAge Project, funded via the European Social Fund, which promotes effective age management strategies to improve and prolong the working lives of older workers, and support employers to ensure that they attract and retain the skills, experience and knowledge of older employees in the labour market.
Social Media, York - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
The objective was to show older people in York how use Social Media like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn so they can effectively promote themselves on the internet and create their own web site using freely available blogging software like Blogger and Wordpress.
York Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Blogging
The two hour workshop was well received by both the enthusiastic York based participants and Julie Kitching - head of Equality and Diversity at York College, who were eager to find out about how Search Engine Optimisation, Blogging and Social Media can attract new customers and build stronger business relationships within the local York community.
